“BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR.” CAST LIST
Thank you so much to all who auditioned for Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Over 120 CCMS students from all grades tried out for this beloved musical. I am so proud of each and every one of you who ventured outside of your comfort zone to be a part of this exciting journey.
You will notice that some of the parts have been multi- cast, which means performers will be in an equal number of shows if possible (except when three people are cast in the part). Some parts are understudied, which means that those actors will fill in if the performer cast in the role cannot do it (they will also get a chance to perform in that particular role for one performance as well, as long as they attend all of their rehearsals). If you see a * after a name, then it means that that performer has been cast in more than one part.
Most middle schools only have one or two performances; we will have several. The show dates are Thursday, April 21st; Friday, April 22nd; and Saturday, April 23rd at the new PHSC Instructional Performing Arts Center.
To those students who did not get the role that you wanted: Don’t be sad. You did your best and you impressed, but casting is like a puzzle, and we have to find the right fit for each part.
As for the Villagers, in any production of Mr. Nason’s shows and especially in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, there is never a small part. EVERY part matters. (If you auditioned and for some reason do not see yourself on this list, please let Mr. Nason know.) I am so excited that each of you will be a part of this tale old as time.
Our first rehearsal/meeting for the entire cast will be in late January in the black box theater; details to follow after break.
More than one CCMS teacher was involved in the casting process, including Mx. Lander, Miss Spencer, Ms. Sartorio, Mrs. Kamrowski, Mrs. Whaley and Ms. Milner.
