Thank you for your interest in the Cypress Creek Middle School Orchestra!

Here at Cypress Creek Middle School, we currently have two different orchestras suited to cater to the needs of all our orchestra students.

These two programs are as follows:

M/J Orchestra 1

Beginning Orchestra (No experience required)

This program is specifically designed to take students who have never played in orchestra before (or who have taken an extended break/want to brush up on their fundamental skills) and grow them into mature, capable musicians.

This group is open to any student, grades 6 – 8 who would like to learn a orchestral string instrument (violin, viola, cello, double bass)

This group typically plays 2 concerts a year.

M/J Orchestra 2 and 3

Intermediate Orchestra (Prior experience required)

This group of driven individuals performs middle school level literature, with historical accuracy and in a variety of styles.

This group is open to any student, grades 6* – 8 who would like to continue growing their skills as a orchestral musician.

The Intermediate Orchestra typically plays 4 concerts a year and offers students the chance to compete at the district/regional and state level competitions.

*If your student has violin, viola, cello, or double bass experience and is an incoming 6th grader, please contact our orchestra director Ms. Hammill (mhammill@pasco.k12.fl.us) to make sure that your student is placed in the correct class.
